Yimeng’s research explores adaptive physical systems emerging from the interplay of materials, structures, and computation. By designing with responsive materials, bio-inspired mechanisms, and computational fabrication processes, his work investigates how physical artifacts can acquire the capacity to sense, transform, and interact with humans and the environment. He received his M.Sc. in Engineering Design and Innovation from the National University of Singapore and his B.Eng. in Industrial Design from China Agricultural University. His previous research spans conductive hydrogel fibers, wearable sensing, and bio-inspired robotic systems, with experience in mechanical design, computational simulation, prototyping, and machine learning.
